Job summary

SLG Food Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to record daily transactions, reconcile ledgers, prepare journals, and assist in monthly closings. The role requires accuracy, deadlines, and familiarity with manufacturing accounting.

You will maintain fixed assets, prepare P&L and balance sheet analyses, assist with tax computations, and support management on finance projects. Diploma holders with 2+ years’ experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Diploma in accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years in accounting, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Record daily transactions including expenses, payments, and receipts.
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monthly checking, verify supplier invoice and prepare payment vouchers and ensure timely payments to suppliers.
• Reconcile supplier statements and AP balances on a monthly basis.
• Monthly checking and verify customer invoices, monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue payments.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to match internal records with bank statements.
• Experience in manufacturing accounting.
• Prepare monthly journal entries including depreciation, accruals, and provisions.
• Maintain and update fixed asset register with acquisition and disposal records.
• Prepare and analyze monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, monthly budgeting cash flow report to director.
• Assist in corporate income tax computations and liaise with external tax agents.
• Assist with other ad-hoc tasks and finance-related projects as required by management

Requirements

1. At Least Diploma in Accounting or Equivalent Qualification.
2. Min 2 years and above of working experience in accounting related position, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
