Job summary

GDT Sdn. Bhd. in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Finance Executive / Senior Finance Executive to support core accounting operations. You will handle AP, payment processing, reconciliations, and month-end close, interfacing with auditors and internal teams.

The role requires a degree or diploma in accounting/finance, 3–5 years’ relevant experience, and proficiency in Excel and accounting software. Manufacturing exposure is a plus; immediate availability is desirable.

• Familiarity with SST and e-Invoicing requirements.

Job description

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Finance Executive / Senior Finance Executive to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company’s finance and accounting operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable, payment processing, account reconciliation, and month-end closing activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Process supplier invoices, staff claims, payment vouchers, and related accounting transactions accurately and on time.

- Verify supporting documents and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

- Maintain AP ageing and monitor timely payment to suppliers.

- Handle intercompany transactions and perform account reconciliations.

- Assist with monthly and year-end closing, including GL reconciliation and preparation of supporting schedules.

- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, suppliers, and internal departments on finance-related matters.

- Support financial reporting, process improvements, and accounting system enhancement projects.

- Perform other ad hoc duties and assignments as required by the Finance Manager or Top Management.

Requirements

- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience for Finance Executive or 5 years’ relevant experience for Senior Finance Executive.

- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an added advantage.

- Strong knowledge of GL management and month-end closing procedures.

- Hands-on experience in independently managing a full set of accounts will be an added advantage.

- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

- Good understanding of accounting principles, SST and e-Invoicing requirements.

- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Immediate availability or short notice period is an added advantage.
