Job summary

YBS Construction & Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an Account Executive to join our Finance team on a full-time basis in Juru, Penang. You will manage accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting across our construction and engineering operations.

You will support management decision-making with timely financial data, perform reconciliations, prepare invoices, and maintain robust records in line with Malaysian standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as Account Executive or similar accounting role, preferably in construction or engineering.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles and Malaysian accounting standards.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and rectify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

About the role

YBS Construction & Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our Finance team on a full-time basis in Juru, Penang. This role is pivotal to our financial operations, responsible for managing accounts and ensuring accurate financial reporting across our construction and engineering operations. As an Account Executive, you will be instrumental in maintaining the financial integrity of the company whilst supporting management decision‑making through timely and accurate financial data.

Key responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all transactions

Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and payment documentation in accordance with company policies

Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to support financial planning

Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports for management review

Record and verify all financial transactions in the general ledger using accounting software

Follow up on outstanding invoices and manage collection processes to optimise cash flow

Support the accounts payable function by processing vendor invoices and managing payment schedules

Conduct account analysis and identify discrepancies, raising queries with relevant departments for resolution

Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and relevant financial regulations

Maintain accurate and organised financial records and documentation

Collaborate with other finance team members and departments to support overall financial operations

What we're looking for

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

Proven experience working as an Account Executive or in a similar accounting role, preferably within the construction or engineering sector

Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices in line with Malaysian Accounting Standards

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and rectify financial discrepancies

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Solid communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management

Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and verbal

Reliability and integrity in handling sensitive financial information
