About the role
We are seeking an experienced Account cum Admin professional to join our team in Hutan Melintang Perak. This is a dual-function role that combines accounting and administrative responsibilities, offering an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to make a significant impact within a small to medium-sized practice environment. You will be instrumental in maintaining the financial integrity of the organisation whilst ensuring smooth day-to-day administrative operations. This position offers the flexibility to work across multiple business-critical functions and is ideal for someone who thrives in a versatile, fast-paced setting.
What you'll be doing
- Recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments in accounting systems.
- Reconciling bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Preparing and maintaining financial records, ledgers and trial balances.
- Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Supporting the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
- Managing general administrative duties including correspondence, scheduling and filing.
- Handling office communication, both internal and external, via email, telephone and in-person.
- Assisting with data entry and maintaining organised filing systems for both financial and administrative documents.
- Supporting compliance with bookkeeping standards and organisational policies.
- Liaising with clients, vendors and internal stakeholders as required.
- Performing ad-hoc administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the business.
What we're looking for
- Relevant qualifications in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience working in a bookkeeping, accounts or small practice accounting environment.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Sound knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices, including bank reconciliation and general ledger management.
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently whilst maintaining collaborative relationships with team members.
- Discretion and reliability in handling confidential financial information.
- Familiarity with local taxation and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
- Willingness to adapt to a varied role encompassing both accounting and administrative responsibilities.
