Mjaya Auto Sdn Bhd in Batu Pahat, Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Accounts Officer to handle daily accounting operations, including AP and AR, and to prepare invoices, debit/credit notes, and receipts. You will monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding debts in a fast-paced automotive environment.
The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, 1–3 years of experience, proficiency with accounting software and Excel, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Handle daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
Prepare and issue invoices, debit notes, credit notes, and official receipts.
Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding debts.
Process supplier payments and reconcile supplier statements.
Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records.
Prepare monthly financial reports and schedules.
Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records.
Assist in inventory and spare parts stock reconciliation.
Handle petty cash claims and staff reimbursements.
Assist in audit, tax, and statutory compliance matters.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Liaise with banks, auditors, tax agents, suppliers, and customers when required.
Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 1–3 years of accounting experience (experience in the automotive industry is an advantage).
Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
Positive attitude, responsible, and willing to learn.
