CHL INNOVATION INDUSTRIES SDN BHD in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, is hiring an Account Assistant to support daily accounting and bookkeeping. This full-time role handles AP/AR, invoicing, reconciliations, and documentation, contributing to accurate financial records and compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least SPM/O Level or equivalent, with 1 year of relevant experience, strong Excel and accounting software skills, and good English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin; Mandarin preferred.

• Handle daily accounting operations including AP/AR, invoicing, reconciliations, and payments.
• Prepare export/import documentation and ensure compliance where applicable.
• Maintain daily ledgers and petty cash reimbursements.
• Coordinate treasury activities and cash flows if required.

About the role We are seeking an Account Assistant to join CHL Innovation Industries Sdn Bhd in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our accounting and bookkeeping operations. As an Account Assistant, you will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your contributions will directly support the financial health and operational efficiency of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

Daily Operations: Handle daily accounting operations and administrative tasks, including preparing and processing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), invoicing, reconciliations, and payments.

Export & Customs Documentation: Handle product details, weights, pricing, customs form submissions, and documentation required for exporting products overseas with high accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update daily financial records, ledgers, and handle petty cash claim reimbursements.

Treasury Support: Coordinate treasury activities, which include preparing daily cash flows and processing online bank portal payments.

Filing & Compliance: Ensure all accounting records and documents are properly filed, organized, and maintained.

Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of daily accounting processes and procedures.

Ad-Hoc Tasks: Perform any ad-hoc tasks or administrative duties assigned by your superior.

What we're looking for

Candidates who possess at least an SPM / 'O' Level, Professional Certificate, LCCI, Diploma in Finance / Accountancy, or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar accounting or finance role; experience in the Sales or Marketing sector is preferred.

Proficient in using accounting software and the MS Office suite (especially Excel), with strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. As the position requires data entry into the system, candidates who are proficient in Mandarin are highly preferred.

Prior experience in customs form submission and documentation is highly preferred. (preferred)

Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently and proactively to meet strict deadlines.

Candidates who can start immediately or within a short notice period are preferred.
