Job summary

Infinity Food Distribution Sdn Bhd, based in Klang, Selangor, is seeking an Account Assistant to join our accounting team. This full-time role provides essential administrative and accounting support to maintain accurate records and smooth financial operations.

You will assist with processing transactions, reconciliations, AP/AR, and monthly closing while developing your accounting expertise within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• SPM, Diploma or equivalent in Accounting/Finance required.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
• Organised with good time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and record financial transactions including invoices and vouchers.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and cash records accuracy.
• Assist with accounts payable/receivable and chasing outstanding payments.
• Support monthly financial statements and management accounts.
• File and organise financial documents per procedures and regulations.
• Enter data into accounting software and ensure accuracy.
• Assist with year-end closing and audit preparations.
• Respond to financial enquiries from internal and external parties.
• Support senior accounting with ad hoc tasks and projects.

About the role

We are seeking an Account Assistant to join our accounting team in Klang, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of Infinity Food Distribution Sdn Bhd. As an Account Assistant, you will be responsible for providing essential administrative and accounting support to ensure smooth financial processes and accurate record-keeping. This position is instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems and supporting the broader finance function within the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, and payment vouchers


• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers


• Preparing bank reconciliations and ensuring accuracy of cash records
  
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including chasing outstanding payments


• Supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements and management accounts


• Filing and organising financial documents in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements


• Entering data into accounting software and maintaining accurate financial records


• Assisting with year-end closing procedures and audit preparations


• Responding to financial enquiries from internal departments and external parties


• Supporting the senior accounting team with special projects and ad hoc accounting tasks as required

What we're looking for

• SPM, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field


• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices


• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel


• Strong numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail


• Excellent organisational abilities and time management skills


• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues


• Reliability and integrity in handling financial information


• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  
• Experience in the food distribution or trading industry would be advantageous


• Willingness to learn and develop accounting expertise
