Job summary

WAI FOOD SDN BHD is seeking an Account Assistant/Account Executive to join the finance team in Ampang, Selangor. This full-time role focuses on daily accounting operations, financial record accuracy, and timely financial reporting to support business decisions.

You will work to maintain GL accuracy, process transactions, and assist with payroll and audits, within a growing food company that values integrity and growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM, 1-2 years experience preferred.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Fluency in Chinese and Malay is essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication and accounting skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and process invoices, receipts, and expense claims accurately.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure record accuracy.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Assist with payroll administration and employee expenses.
• Verify cash reimbursements and maintain filing systems.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation.
• Liaise with vendors, customers, and other departments on billing.

About the role

We are seeking an Account Assistant / Account Executive to join the accounting team at WAI FOOD SDN BHD. This is a full-time position based in Ampang, Selangor. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of our organisation by managing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the wider finance function. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing timely financial information to support business decision-making. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting career within a growing food industry company.

Key responsibilities

Recording and processing financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and expense claims in a timely and accurate manner

Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of financial records

Preparing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records

Supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports

Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including payment processing and invoice follow-up

Assisting with payroll administration and employee expense reimbursements

Verify Cash Reimbursement

Performing data entry and maintaining comprehensive filing systems for financial documentation

Supporting internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and schedules

Liaising with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding account inquiries and billing matters

What we're looking for

Minimum SPM, 1-2 years experience will be preferably

Fresh graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply

Command of verbal and written Chinese, and Malaysian is essential

Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records and identify discrepancies

Competence in accounts payable and accounts receivable management

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders

Reliability, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential financial information

Preferably, previous experience working in the food industry or manufacturing sector
