Job summary

General Motors de México is seeking a Zone Manufacturing Engineer to own a production zone, leading design, installation and launch of manufacturing processes and tooling for new programs and model changes. This hands-on, on-site role requires strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful launches.

The role focuses on process development, tooling management, and material-flow optimization, with emphasis on PFMEAs, PPI execution and delivering system readiness

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Ability to solve complex problems and drive to resolution.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Project management across multiple complex projects with autonomy.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% during launches and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Own the designated production zone and lead process design, installation and launch.
• Develop manufacturing processes, select equipment and ramp to steady state.
• Define product and manufacturing requirements for launches and changes.
• Manage tooling, equipment projects with supplier oversight.
• Analyze material flow and support future state improvements.
• Drive launch readiness and participate in PDT/CIT integration forums.
