The Manufacturing & Engineering Team Lead is responsible for leading and developing a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring operational excellence, process reliability, and alignment with business objectives. This role combines strong technical expertise, people leadership, and strategic decision-making to drive manufacturing performance, resolve complex production challenges, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The position plays a key role in developing team capabilities, optimizing processes, and ensuring customer and business requirements are consistently met.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers and technicians in a manufacturing environment.
- Manage team priorities, resource allocation, and project execution to support business objectives.
- Drive root cause analysis, failure mode analysis, and effective problem-solving for manufacturing and product-related issues.
- Lead cross-functional projects from planning through implementation, including scope, budget, and timeline management.
- Support production operations, ensuring rapid resolution of process, equipment, and quality issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to address technical challenges and improve performance.
- Escalate resource, capability, and operational risks as needed.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Understand and support financial objectives, productivity targets, and value stream performance.
- Ensure customer requirements and Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback are reflected in operational and engineering decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation & Controls, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, engineering, or production support roles.
- Previous experience leading technical teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Project management experience.
- Supervisory or leadership training preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
Preferred Technical Experience
- Manufacturing process engineering and production support.
- Machining, metalworking, and industrial manufacturing processes.
- Interpretation of technical manuals, drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and automated systems troubleshooting.
- Product and process failure investigations, RMAs, and corrective actions.
- Supplier technical communication and support.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, or similar high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of heat treatment, metal forming, bending processes, plastic molding, or extrusion processes is highly desirable.
