Vertiv in Santa Catarina, Mexico, is seeking an intermediate HVAC Technician to organize equipment, perform routine testing, report findings, and modify units with limited judgment.

You will set up the test facility, operate safely, support engineers, read drawings, document results, and participate in 5S initiatives while meeting schedules.

Formación

• Two-year Associate's Degree or higher with HVAC experience.
• Experience with brazing, piping, and basic wiring.
• Knowledge of 208/230/460V 3-phase wiring and low voltage wiring.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings for prototypes.
• Experience testing temperature, pressure, and electrical properties.
• Strong planning, documentation, and communication skills.
• Team oriented and reliable.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with engineers to develop system testing capabilities.
• Analyze and improve existing processes and designs.
• Plan, set up, instrument, and operate products and test facilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Assist QA in understanding tests and low-level functionality.
• Conduct tests, analyze data, and modify units within intermediate scope.
• Participate in 5S improvement programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This is an intermediate level for testing with sufficient experience to handle most assignments. The Technician will organize equipment, perform routine testing, reporting findings, and make adaptations to units exercising a limited degree of judgment.

Responsibilities

• Set up test facility and instrumentation in response to general instructions.
• Ability to operate in a testing lab environment safely and successfully.
• Organizes and maintains a safe, clean, productive lab space.
• Support and collaborate with engineers in activities to structure and develop system testing capabilities and products.
• Analyze and improve existing processes & designs, as required.
• Plan, set up, instrument, and operate products and test facilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot and correct issues.
• Assist in development of solutions or workarounds to resolve issues.
• Work with the engineering and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to fully understand the low-level functions within application software or products, as applicable.
• May assist the QA team in understanding/developing low-level functional and system integration tests.
• Conduct tests, analyze data and make modifications to units being tested within limits of intermediate nature.
• Requires timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Participate in 5S improvement programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two-year Associate's Degree + 1 year OR at least 4 years' HVAC directly related experience.
• Brazing, piping, basic wiring skills.
• 208/230/460V 3-phase 60 Hz wiring.
• Instrumentation and low volt wiring.
• General mechanical skills and ability to read mechanical drawings for prototype builds.
• Must have good working knowledge and skills in testing related to temperature, pressure, and electrical property measurement.
• Good planning, organizational, documentation, and communication skills are required.
• Good attendance.
• MS Office experience helpful.
• Must be team oriented.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Occasionally high ambient conditions.

Time Travel Required

• 10% or less.
