Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a SCADA Engineer to own core configuration of the Ignition platform, focusing on tag structures, UDT setup, and field device communications. You will develop tools to speed up SCADA configuration, deployment, and ongoing support across battery energy storage systems and grid-connected assets.

The role involves designing scalable SCADA architectures, integrating with PLCs, and implementing improvements to reliability and performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Configure and maintain SCADA tags, UDTs, and device connections in Ignition across sites.
Design and maintain MQTT based communication for SCADA and broker configuration.
Integrate SCADA with PLCs and field devices using MQTT, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA, and DNP3.
Build tools to support HMI and controls teams for deployment, validation, and automation.
Troubleshoot SCADA and communication issues in development and live environments; support commissioning.
Document SCADA configuration standards, tag maps, and MQTT structures for long-term maintainability.
