Job summary

ON.energy is seeking a SCADA Engineer to own the core configuration of our Ignition-based SCADA platform. You will manage tag structures, UDTs, and device connections while enabling efficient deployment across battery energy storage systems and grid-connected assets.

You will design MQTT-based communications, integrate with PLCs, and develop tools to accelerate configuration, validation, and deployment. Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years hands-on Ignition experience with tag configuration, UDT, and device connections.
• Experience with MQTT, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA or DNP3.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain SCADA tags, UDTs, and device connections in Ignition.
• Design and maintain MQTT communications for SCADA.
• Integrate SCADA with PLCs across BESS and grid assets.
• Build tools to support HMI and controls teams for deployment and validation.
• Troubleshoot SCADA and communication issues in development and production.
