Lyft is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join the Privacy team. You will design and build systems that make privacy the default, partnering with engineering, product, legal, and compliance on high-impact projects from data redaction to enabling user privacy rights.

Responsibilities include leading large projects, writing maintainable code, conducting reviews, and mentoring junior engineers while promoting privacy-first engineering across Lyft services.

Formación

• > 5-7 years of software engineering experience.
• ">Proficiency in Python, Java or Go."
• ">Experience with operational and analytical data systems (DynamoDB, Aurora, Redis, Databricks)."
• ">Scripting skills in Python, Ruby, Bash."
• ">Proficient in SQL or similar query languages."
• ">Experience developing distributed systems."
• ">Experience with cross-functional stakeholders (Compliance, Legal, Product, Infrastructure)."
• ">Ability to learn new tech quickly and design scalable privacy-aware solutions."
• ">Ability to write clear design docs and manage high-priority projects."
• ">Strong communication and collaboration skills."
• ">Experience mentoring junior engineers."
• ">Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus."
• ">Experience working through ambiguity on complex problems."

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain systems that enhance privacy across the organization
• Independently lead large projects from idea to execution
• Advocate for user privacy across the organization, consulting engineering teams
• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing
• Share knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting best practices
• Contribute to development of controls, testing, and remediation strategies
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to enable privacy by design in products and services
• Anticipate problems and propose architectural improvements to stay ahead
