Helix is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to build and scale full-stack cloud-native systems that advance genomic data in clinical practice. You will design, deploy, and operate multi-domain applications across frontend, backend, and testing with a strong emphasis on reliability and performance.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product, bioinformatics, and science teams, and drive best practices in Agile/DevOps.

Formación

• 6+ years development experience in Go, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or similar.
• Proficiency with distributed systems built on cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• You've worked as an infrastructure engineer or built complex cloud infrastructure from the ground up.
• Strong production Kubernetes experience, including multi-tenant workloads.
• Experience developing and owning serverless services (API Gateway, Lambda) and container-based microservices.
• Experience architecting large, high-scale durable backend or frontend systems.
• Experience designing and operating event-driven distributed systems at scale.
• Ownership of cloud infrastructure and experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (CDK, Terraform, Pulumi).
• Thought leadership and mentoring track record.
• Affinity for Agile, DevOps, and continuous delivery.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Responsabilidades

• Design, architect, and implement software systems designed for scale.
• Develop and own cloud-native applications spanning frontend, backend, and testing.
• Deploy and operate software with reliability at scale for users.
• Build and operate the cloud infrastructure and platforms our products run on.
• Own technical direction for projects and contribute to engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with product managers, bioinformaticians, scientists, and other engineers.
• Own deliverables from idea to feature completion and production.
• Improve engineering practices and introduce systematic approaches like testing and platform standards.
• Use AI in development and drive AI adoption in workflows.
• Mentor other engineers and foster continuous learning.
