Job summary

Teamswell is a high-growth nearshore outsourcing company serving US clients. We seek a Senior Controller / Strategic Financial Advisor to oversee daily financial operations and partner with the CEO on strategic decisions.

You will build budgets, manage close processes, ensure compliance, and develop dashboards to illuminate margins and cash flow. The role requires 7+ years of finance experience and strong communication to translate numbers into actionable guidance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in accounting/finance at Controller level or above.
• Big-picture mindset linking financial data to business strategy.
• Solutions-first approach proposing fixes rather than just reporting problems.
• Diplomatic, confident to push back on leadership when warranted.
• CPA and/or MBA preferred but not required if experience demonstrates capability.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close; audit-ready financial statements.
• Manage A/P, A/R, payroll coordination, reconciliations, internal controls.
• Build rolling budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models reflecting the business realities.
• Partner with CEO on strategic decisions with clear financial analysis and point of view.
• Identify financial risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities; propose solutions.
• Challenge assumptions when numbers don’t support decisions.
• Oversee compliance, tax filings, and relationships with external accountants/auditors.
• Develop dashboards and reports showing margins, cash position, and unit economics.
• Support pricing, vendor, and cost-structure decisions with rigorous analysis.
• Help build scalable financial processes and systems as the company grows.
