The Big Job Site is seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support U.S. post-conviction litigation. The role centers on serving families, coordinating with court staff, and managing filing deadlines with meticulous care.

You will draft routine motions and filings, maintain templates, and ensure precise support during high-stakes moments, while upholding strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Excellent written English skills with experience drafting court filings.
• Clear, confident spoken English for phone interactions with clerks and families.
• Advanced Microsoft Word (styles, templates, fields, numbering).
• Strong PDF software skills (OCR, bookmarking, redaction).
• Demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines across a large caseload.
• Discretion handling confidential information with professionalism.

Responsabilités

• Serve as primary day-to-day contact for families, providing proactive updates and logging communications.
• Confirm written family authorizations before sharing case details and correspond with clients via legal mail.
• Collect and log case information and explain post-conviction processes clearly.
• Coordinate with clerks, reporters, and officials for status checks and docket monitoring.
• Order, track, and organize case records, transcripts, and attorney files.
• Prepare eFileTexas filing packages following attorney approval and circulate copies.
• Maintain TRAP-compliant filing templates in OneDrive and manage version control.
• Maintain master deadline tracker with multi-tier reminders.
• Prepare first drafts of motions, briefs, indexes, and certificates.
• Conduct cite-checking and record-checking prior to submission.
• Support Art. 11.07/11.072 habeas corpus, direct appeals, and related matters.
