Job summary

briefCASE Legal Support, LLC is seeking a Legal Assistant or Paralegal with U.S. personal injury experience to join our remote team supporting DJC Law, PLLC, a Texas-based firm.

You will manage casework from pre-litigation through settlement, coordinate with attorneys and clients, and handle medical records, filings, and discovery. This remote, independent contractor role offers flexible hours and the opportunity to develop your U.S.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working for a U.S.-based personal injury law firm.
• Hands-on pre-litigation personal injury experience, including case management, client communication, and obtaining medical records and bills.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Familiarity with the U.S. personal injury litigation process, including discovery, pleadings, court filings, depositions, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key contact for clients; provide case updates and coordinate appointments.
• Open and maintain client files in Filevine or similar case management software; track deadlines.
• Coordinate medical records; organize and summarize medical records, bills, and reports.
• Draft correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and basic legal documents under supervision.
• Support settlement preparation; assist with settlement demand packages and communications with insurers.
• Coordinate litigation activities; schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and maintain calendars.
• Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, legal assistants, and investigators to support case progress.
• Assist with intake, records retrieval, and other case-related responsibilities.
