Siemens Energy in Guanajuato, Mexico, seeks a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer for Distribution Transformers to drive end-to-end mechanical design, validation and quality assurance. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop robust transformer components, create drawings and BOMs, run simulations, and ensure manufacturability, performance and reliability.

The role requires a bachelor's in mechanical/mechatronics, 5+ years in mechanical design or R&D, strong CAD experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics required.
• 5+ years of mechanical design or R&D experience in electromechanical systems or industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of the engineering design process and new product development.
• Hands-on CAD experience (AutoCAD or similar) and mechanical simulations.
• Professional English communication skills.

R&D Mechanical Engineer - Dry Transformers

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer for Distribution Transformers, you will play a key role in ensuring business continuity and driving product innovation within the Engineering team in Guanajuato, Mexico.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical design, development, validation, and quality assurance of transformer components, working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, high‑quality, and competitive products that meet technical and business requirements.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Collaborate with mechanical design in development of components and assemblies for distribution transformers using CAD tools such as AutoCAD.
• Contribute to new product development initiatives, applying the engineering design process from concept definition through prototyping and release.
• Create, review, and maintain technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and existing products.
• Design and adapt mechanical systems considering material selection, thermal performance, manufacturability, and structural integrity.
• Perform simulations and engineering analyses to validate designs prior to prototyping and testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues identified during testing, validation, or production, collaborating with Quality and Manufacturing teams.

What You Brin

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and/or R&D roles, preferably within electromechanical systems or industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of the engineering design process and new product development.
• Hands‑on experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD or similar) and mechanical simulations.
