Siemens Energy in Santa Teresa, Guanajuato, seeks an Electrical Engineer for Construction Projects to oversee electrical engineering activities from design coordination to commissioning on industrial construction projects.

You will collaborate with contractors, engineering firms, and internal teams to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence, reviewing documentation and resolving technical issues on site.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of fifteen years of experience on industrial or large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems and grounding.
  • Familiarity with IEC, NEC/NFPA, and IEEE standards and local regulations.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Intermediate to advanced English with strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Review electrical design packages for compliance with Siemens Energy standards.
  • Supervise on-site electrical construction to ensure quality and adherence to drawings.
  • Identify deviations and risks; propose compliant solutions with Project Management.
  • Participate in inspections, tests, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with EHS, Quality, Civil, Mechanical, and Automation teams.
  • Document progress, punch lists, non-conformities, and provide technical reports.

A Snapshot of Your Day

The Electrical Engineer for Construction Projects supports and oversees all electrical engineering activities throughout industrial construction projects, from design coordination to construction and commissioning. The role involves daily collaboration with contractors, engineering firms, and Siemens Energy internal teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality execution. The engineer reviews technical documentation, monitors site activities, participates in inspections and testing, and resolves technical issues. Work is performed in an active construction environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Review and coordinate electrical design packages from third-party engineering firms to ensure compliance with Siemens Energy standards, project scope, and applicable codes.
  • Supervise and monitor on-site electrical construction activities to verify adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Identify technical deviations, constructability challenges, and interface risks, proposing compliant and practical solutions in coordination with Project Management.
  • Participate in inspections, factory and site acceptance tests, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Coordinate with EHS, Quality, Civil, Mechanical, and Automation teams to ensure electrical works are safely integrated into overall project execution.
  • Document progress, punch lists, non-conformities, and lessons learned, providing clear technical reporting to project stakeholders.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of fiteen years of experience in industrial or large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems, grounding, lighting, and equipment installation.
  • Solid understanding of international electrical codes and standards such as IEC, NEC/NFPA, and IEEE, and their application to local regulations.
  • Proven ability to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
About The Team

The role is part of the Siemens Energy Real Estate BSS project execution organization supporting the STM300 expansion project in Santa Teresa, Guanajuato. The Electrical Engineer reports to the Project Manager and works closely with Engineering, Construction, EHS, Quality, and Commissioning teams. The team collaborates with global and local Siemens Energy stakeholders and external contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of electrical works.
