Siemens Energy in Querétaro invites an Electrical Design Engineer to create customized electrical and automation designs that comply with international standards. You will collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Quality Assurance throughout the project lifecycle, from sales to commissioning.

You will develop new designs, review subcontractor products, and travel as needed to serve global customers.

Formación

  • BS in Engineering required; Electrical, Automation & Control, or Mechatronics preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical design, drafting or design engineering, including low-voltage equipment.
  • Proficiency with electrical standards and codes (NEC, IEC, NEMA, NFPA 70/79, UL).

Responsabilidades

  • Execute customized electrical and automation designs per local and global standards.
  • Provide engineering support to Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, Field Service, and QA throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and standardize electrical and mechanical designs for broader deployment.
  • Prepare project drawing packages with engineers for integrated solutions.
  • Review subcontractor products for compliance with standards and customer requirements.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support activities.

Execute customized electromechanical designs for electrical (low voltage) and automation systems, ensuring compliance of international normativity for integrated solutions projects.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Execute customized designs for electrical (low voltage) and automation system solutions under minimal supervision, applying local and global design standards, industry standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Provide engineering support to Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Quality Assurance teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, from sales and execution to commissioning and service.
  • Develop new electrical and mechanical designs and standardize them, where appropriate, for implementation across the engineering organization.
  • Collaborate with electrical and automation engineers to prepare project-specific drawing packages and support the development of integrated engineering solutions.
  • Review and technically approve internal and external subcontractor products related to developed designs and solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and the current integral management system protocols, policies, and guidelines (EHS and Quality).
  • Based in the Querétaro office, with required domestic and international travel to Siemens Energy and customer facilities worldwide to support engineering, execution, commissioning, and service activities.
What You Bring
  • BS in Engineering required; Electrical, Automation & Control, or Mechatronics preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical design, drafting, design engineering, or technical engineering, including the design of low-voltage power distribution equipment. Candidates with additional experience may be considered for an intermediate-level position.
  • Experience performing mechanical and electrical calculations (e.g., cable sizing, cabinet modeling, center-of-gravity calculations), specifying electrical equipment, reading electrical diagrams, and interpreting customer specifications.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical standards and codes, including NEC, IEC, NEMA, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL requirements.
  • Proven proficiency with engineering and drafting software, including EPLAN, AutoCAD 2D/3D, and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
