Job summary

ABB in Nogales, Mexico is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead production and maintenance, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective operations while meeting quality and delivery targets. You will drive operational strategies and continuous improvement across the plant to boost reliability and performance.

The role reports to the Manufacturing Unit Manager Transformers and requires 8+ years leading manufacturing and maintenance teams, strong leadership and bilingual English/Spanish,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years leading manufacturing operations and maintenance teams.
• Strong leadership, people mgmt, and change management.
• Advanced English and Spanish, written and verbal.
• Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and CI initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making in complex situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead production and maintenance to meet safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost targets.
• Develop and execute operational plans, budgets, KPIs, and improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, Fulfillment and Engineering to improve efficiency and inventory.

• Build and lead high-performing teams through coaching and performance management.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement to reduce waste and costs.

This position reports to:

Manufacturing Unit Manager Transformers

Your Role: Own the Challenge

In this role, you will be responsible for leading production and maintenance operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing performance while meeting customer expectations for quality and delivery. You will play a key role in developing operational strategies, driving continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing resources, and enhancing equipment reliability across the plant.

The work model for the role is: On site

Global relocation/LTA support will not be considered for this position.

This role is contributing to the Nogales Transformers Plant in Nogales.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead production and maintenance operations to achieve targets related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.
• Develop and execute operational plans, budgets, KPIs, and improvement initiatives that drive world-class manufacturing performance.
• Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, Fulfillment, and Engineering teams to improve customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and inventory management.
• Foster a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and implementing preventive actions.
• Build, develop, and lead high-performing teams through coaching, performance management, and talent development.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, cost optimization, and process excellence.
• Oversee maintenance strategies, reliability programs, lifecycle management, and capital improvement projects to maximize equipment availability and plant performanc

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years experience leading manufacturing operations and maintenance teams within an industrial environment.
• Strong leadership, people management, and change management capabilities.
• Advanced English and Spanish communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience managing budgets, operational KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working in cross-functional environments.
