Henkel Mexicana is seeking a Principal Application Engineer - Electronics to be the technical expert for electronic applications in adhesives, coatings, bonding, and gasketing solutions. You will bridge customer needs, technology trends, and internal innovation to propose product and application strategies.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years supporting electronic applications, adhesives, coatings or related tech.
• Strong background in electronics at component level and related materials.
• Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Application Engineering or Technical Service.

Principal Application Engineer Electronics

The Principal Application Engineer - Electronics serves as the technical expert for electronic applications involving adhesives, coatings, bonding, and gasketing solutions. This role acts as the bridge between customer requirements, technology trends, and internal innovation efforts, translating technical needs into product recommendations, application solutions, and strategic growth opportunities. The position partners closely with customers, sales teams, product development, innovation, and marketing functions to deliver technical expertise, support new business development, and drive customer success through advanced application engineering solutions.

What you´ll do

• Act as the primary technical expert for electronic applications involving adhesives, coatings, bonding, and gasketing technologies.
• Translate customer needs, market trends, and emerging technologies into product requirements and innovation roadmap recommendations.
• Recommend products and application solutions that create value and address customer challenges.
• Conduct technical customer visits, including meetings, audits, product demonstrations, process evaluations, and troubleshooting activities.
• Support the implementation and optimization of adhesive-related manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Deliver customized application support, product evaluations, and new product demonstrations.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Collect and leverage customer feedback to improve products, services, and identify new business opportunities.
• Support quality investigations and customer claims by coordinating with the appropriate internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical training and coaching to customers, distributors, and commercial teams.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Product Development, Innovation, and Application Engineering teams.
• Coordinate laboratory activities related to customer samples and communicate technical findings and recommendations.
• Drive effective customer engagement through both onsite and remote technical support.
• Share best practices, technical learnings, and innovation opportunities across regions and business units.
• Support strategic customer projects and contribute to business growth initiatives.

What makes you a good fit

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting electronic applications, adhesives, coatings, or related technologies.
• Strong technical background in electronics, electrical engineering, electronic materials, or related fields.
• Deep understanding of electronics at the component level; experience with electronic materials is a strong advantage.
• Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Application Engineering, Technical Service, Product
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical customer solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional and global environments.
• Business-oriented mindset with a strong focus on execution, customer value, and results.

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, or a related field.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, or electronic component applications.
• Knowledge of adhesive dispensing, coating, bonding, or related process technologies.
• Experience leading technical projects and influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies in electronics and advanced materials.
