Job summary

Carter’s Inc. in Mexico is seeking a payroll specialist to manage gross payroll for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring staff, ensuring adherence to Mexican labor and tax rules. You will coordinate time & attendance, tax withholdings, and payroll reporting in a collaborative, values-driven environment.

You will also handle severance calculations, final settlements, and support system improvements to optimize payroll processes across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Payroll processing: Calculate gross payroll, including overtime, statutory holidays, vacation premium, and other applicable payroll concepts for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring employees.
• Time & attendance management: Collect, review, and validate attendance records, payroll incidences, and medical leaves for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring employees.
• Termination management: Calculate severance payments, seniority premiums, and final settlements upon employee termination for Retail, Corporate, and Nearshoring employees.
• Legal and tax compliance: Calculate and process applicable income tax withholdings and employer contributions, ensuring compliance with Mexican labor and tax regulations.
• Government institution administration: Manage payroll-related processes and requirements with government institutions and platforms, including IDSE and FONACOT.
• Payroll reporting: Analyze payroll information and prepare supporting workpapers for payroll accounting close and reconciliations.
• Payroll projects: Support and participate in the implementation and optimization of payroll systems and related processes.
