Job summary

Cognizant is hiring a Payroll Jr Associate in Mexico to assist the payroll team with processing and verifying salaries and social security contributions in line with local regulations and internal policies.

The role focuses on ensuring accurate, timely wage payments, handling payroll inputs, responding to inquiries, and supporting compliance with controls and regulatory requirements, while maintaining data integrity across systems.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in payroll administration or related functions.
• Intermediate English proficiency.
• Spanish proficiency.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Basic knowledge of local labor and payroll regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Validation of new hire information, salary, health insurance, working hours, contract type, etc.
• Review and control of payroll inputs, changes and updates.
• Respond to payroll-related inquiries from internal clients and employees.
• Support payroll compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in validation of new hire and termination payments, including final settlements.
• Monitor payroll mailbox and respond to employee inquiries promptly.
• Support leave and vacation process with proper documentation and system updates.
• Other tasks as required within the project scope.
