Kearney Italia, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist in Mexico to manage end-to-end payroll operations. The role includes ensuring accuracy in payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and delivering payroll support. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of payroll experience.

Key responsibilities include processing payroll cycles, managing employee transactions, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. Comprehensive benefits including medical insurance and retirement contributions are offered.

Formación

  • 3–5 years of payroll processing experience in Mexico.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Mexican Labor Law, IMSS, INFONAVIT, SAT, and ISR tax regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Process weekly, biweekly, and monthly payroll cycles accurately and on schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Mexican payroll regulations and labor laws.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources and Finance for payroll accuracy.

Descripción del empleo

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations for employees in Mexico. This position will be a 6–9-month contract. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with Mexican labor and tax regulations, and the delivery of exceptional payroll support to employees and stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong technical payroll expertise, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Human Resources, Finance, and external service providers.

We want to hear from you if you:
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Have 3–5 years of payroll processing experience in Mexico.
  • Possess strong knowledge of:
    • Mexican Labor Law (Ley Federal del Trabajo)
    • IMSS (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social)
    • INFONAVIT
    • SAT and ISR tax regulations
    • Payroll tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements
  • Have experience with payroll systems such as ADP, SAP, UKG, Oracle, Workday, or local Mexican payroll platforms.
  • Demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively across multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing & Administration
  • Process weekly, biweekly, and monthly payroll cycles accurately and on schedule.
  • Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and final settlements.
  • Manage employee payroll-related transactions, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Mexican payroll regulations, labor laws, and tax requirements.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports and filings to:
    • IMSS (Social Security)
    • INFONAVIT
    • SAT (Tax Authority)
    • FONACOT, where applicable
  • Calculate and validate ISR tax withholdings and social security contributions.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting payroll and labor compliance and recommend necessary process updates.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.
  • Generate payroll journals, reporting packages, and month-end payroll reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Ensure payroll controls and processes are executed in accordance with company policies and compliance requirements.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external payroll vendors and service providers to resolve issues and maintain service quality.
  • Support process improvement initiatives designed to enhance payroll operations, reporting, and employee experience.
