Neeyamo seeks an experienced HR Payroll Manager / Semi-Senior Payroll Coordinator to oversee end-to-end payroll operations in Mexico from Monterrey. You will ensure accurate, timely processing and act as a main contact for employees, HR, Finance, and external providers.

The ideal candidate has strong Mexican payroll knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 4+ years in payroll/HR operations or related function in Mexico.
  • Solid knowledge of Mexican payroll regulations and statutory obligations.
  • Hands-on payroll processing, reconciliation, data validation, and reporting.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel (formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Experience with HRIS, payroll platforms, ERP systems, or payroll providers.
  • Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and deadline discipline.
  • Fluent written and verbal Spanish communication.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate end-to-end monthly and biweekly payroll for Mexico.
  • Validate inputs: salaries, bonuses, commissions, overtime, absences, vacations, terminations, and other variable pay.
  • Ensure payroll calculations comply with Mexican labor, tax, and social security requirements (ISR, IMSS, INFONAVIT, FONACOT).
  • Review payroll calculations, reconciliations, reports, and payment files before final approval.
  • Coordinate payroll calendars, cut-off dates, approvals, and payments with HR, Finance, and external providers.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of data.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, salary changes, promotions, transfers affecting payroll.
  • Prepare and review statutory reports, payroll taxes, social security obligations, and filings.
  • Investigate payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with HRIS, payroll, Finance, IT teams to maintain data integrity and improve processes.
  • Support payroll audits with documentation and reconciliations.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve payroll controls and reporting.
  • Produce payroll metrics and variance analyses; monitor headcount changes and exceptions.
  • Stay updated on Mexican payroll, labor, tax, and social security changes and impact.

HR Payroll Manager / Semi-Senior Payroll Coordinator - Mexico

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Payroll Manager / Semi-Senior Payroll Coordinator to manage and coordinate end-to-end payroll operations in Mexico. The role will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while serving as a key point of contact for employees, HR, Finance, external payroll providers, and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate combines strong Mexican payroll knowledge with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and/or manage the end-to-end monthly and biweekly payroll process for employees in Mexico.
  • Validate payroll inputs including salaries, bonuses, commissions, overtime, absences, vacations, terminations, and other variable compensation.
  • Ensure payroll calculations comply with Mexican labor, tax, and social security requirements, including ISR, IMSS, INFONAVIT, and FONACOT where applicable.
  • Review payroll calculations, reconciliations, payroll reports, and payment files before final approval.
  • Coordinate payroll calendars, cut-off dates, approvals, and payment deadlines with HR, Finance, Treasury, and external providers.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality of payroll and personal information.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, salary changes, promotions, transfers, and other employee lifecycle transactions affecting payroll.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of statutory reports, payroll taxes, social security obligations, and related filings.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee questions, and payment issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with HRIS, payroll, Finance, and technology teams to maintain data integrity and improve payroll processes.
  • Support payroll audits and provide documentation, reconciliations, and evidence requested by internal or external auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and improve payroll processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Prepare management reports and payroll metrics, including payroll variance analysis, headcount changes, and exception reporting.
  • Stay current with changes to Mexican payroll, labor, tax, and social security regulations and assess their operational impact.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in payroll, HR operations, compensation & benefits, or a related function in Mexico.
  • Solid practical knowledge of Mexican payroll regulations and statutory obligations.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll processing, reconciliation, employee data validation, and payroll reporting.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll platforms, ERP systems, or payroll service providers.
  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, confidentiality, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting payroll for 100+ employees or multi-entity organizations.
  • Experience with multinational companies and regional LATAM payroll operations.
  • Experience with payroll outsourcing providers or managed payroll services.
  • Knowledge of HRIS integrations and payroll data interfaces.
  • Intermediate English for communication with regional or global teams.
  • Experience with payroll process improvement, automation, controls, or implementation projects.

Reporting Structure
