Job summary

Qualcomm Intl Inc., Mexico Branch Office is seeking a Network Firewall Engineer to operate enterprise firewall, proxy, and VPN infrastructure. You will implement security policies, manage site-to-site and remote access VPNs, and document configurations.

Join a global team; responsibilities include incident response, runbook creation, and collaboration with teams in India and San Diego. On-site in Mexico City five days a week with opportunities to influence security design.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on IT security operations experience.
• Experience with enterprise firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/FTD).
• Experience managing web proxy and content filtering solutions.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN).
• Strong understanding of NAT, ACLs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
• Excellent written and spoken English for global collaboration.
• On-site work in Mexico City, five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot firewall, proxy, and VPN infrastructure.
• Apply firewall rule changes and policy updates per change control.
• Support site-to-site and remote access VPN configurations.
• Administer web proxy and content filtering platforms and ensure policy compliance.
• Respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, drive resolution.
• Collaborate with India on shift handoffs and with San Diego on designs.
• Maintain documentation of firewall rules, VPNs, and procedures.
• Contribute to runbooks and automation of routine security tasks.
