Job summary

Maersk in Mexico City is seeking a Night Shift Multicarrier Dispatch Specialist to coordinate container movements, assign loads to drivers, and schedule port appointments within a fast-paced Landside Operations team.

The role requires strong organizational skills, English proficiency, and experience in intermodal or drayage logistics. You will interact with drivers, customers, and terminals to ensure timely and efficient service while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, dispatch, landside operations, freight coordination, or related fields.
• Experience coordinating transportation movements, container operations, dispatch activities, or carrier management.
• Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with reporting, operational tracking, or documentation management is preferred.
• Experience with intermodal, drayage, trucking, container logistics, or port operations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assign loads to drivers in Trinium, ensuring allocation based on driver availability and capacity.
• Support drivers with day-to-day operational challenges and provide real-time guidance.
• Generate daily Dispatch Reports using data from Trinium, reports, terminals, and driver schedules.
• Schedule pickup and drop-off appointments through terminal websites and customer facilities.
• Monitor and track import and export container movements for timely execution.
• Investigate completed and pending loads to maintain visibility and planning accuracy.
• Evaluate driver availability and assign loads based on qualifications and needs.
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding drayage issues and service updates.
• Review accessorial charges and coordinate with Settlement and Transportation teams for billing.
• Evaluate repair requests and determine when external providers are required.
• Ensure updates in operational systems and mobile apps.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and service.
