Job summary

Maersk is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Operations Specialist to execute end-to-end customs declarations in line with country-specific requirements. This role collaborates with clients, vendors, Area Function Stakeholders, and Finance teams to ensure timely, compliant customs execution, accurate invoicing, and clear status visibility.

On-site in CDMX, 8-hour shifts between 5 AM and 5 PM, with 100% on-site availability.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Customs Operations or related field.
Proficiency with customs software and MS Office.
Knowledge of Denied Party List screening and compliance controls.

Responsibilities

Receive and validate online and manual order requests; guide customers on documentation and timelines.
Set up orders in customs tools; verify POA, agreements, service scope, and declarations.
Conduct risk assessments including Denied Party List screening and country/location checks.
Create and file customs declarations; submit to authorities and manage amendments or cancellations.
Provide status visibility and update systems; complete order closure and archive records.
Update reporting and KPIs; validate charges, duties, VAT and other costs.
Coordinate with Finance and Procure to Pay for accurate invoice dispatch and corrections.
Apply screening and controls to prevent compliance breaches.
