AstraZeneca in Guadalajara, Mexico, seeks an experienced payroll professional to own US payroll cycles and Puerto Rico payroll validation for over 150 employees across eight entities. You will partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and external providers to resolve issues and improve controls.

Lead end-to-end payroll processing, ensure SOX compliance, and support audits and year-end activities while leveraging automation tools to drive efficiency.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Significant hands-on experience processing US payroll in a high-volume, multi-entity, multi-state organization.
• Strong experience in payroll accounting and G/L reconciliation.
• Experience with enterprise HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data validation, and troubleshooting large datasets.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy.
• High proficiency in English, written and spoken.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to manage sensitive employee matters tactfully.

Responsabilidades

• Own the timely and accurate processing of US payroll cycles, including regular and off-cycle payrolls, earnings, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and other special payments.
• Support end-to-end processing, audit, and compliance activities for Puerto Rico payroll.
• Validate and reconcile payroll data from HRIS, time and attendance, and other sources; resolve discrepancies before final approval.
• Reconcile payroll G/L accounts and posting files for each payroll cycle.
• Review and reconcile payroll tax filings and reports; support tax notices with internal teams and external providers.
• Maintain accurate payroll records in line with SOX and data privacy requirements.
• Respond to employee payroll questions with clear explanations of pay calculations and taxes.
• Support year-end activities, including W-2PR and W-2 reviews, bonus cycles, and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Finance on changes affecting payroll; participate in testing payroll system changes and improvements.
• Identify and implement process improvements using automation tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Claude).
• Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
