AstraZeneca GmbH in Guadalajara, Mexico, seeks an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage US payroll cycles and Puerto Rico payroll processing for a multi-entity organization. You will validate data, reconcile G/L accounts, and ensure SOX compliance while supporting audits and process improvements.

The role requires strong Excel skills, Workday experience, and a customer-focused approach to resolving payroll issues across a global team.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration or related field.
• Significant hands-on experience processing US payroll in a high-volume, multi-entity, multi-state organization.
• Strong experience in payroll accounting and G/L reconciliation.
• Experience working with enterprise HRIS, payroll, and timekeeping systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation.

Responsabilidades

• Own the timely and accurate processing of US payroll cycles, including regular and off-cycle payrolls, earnings, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and other payments.
• Support end-to-end processing, audit, and compliance activities for Puerto Rico payroll.
• Validate and reconcile payroll data from HRIS, time and attendance, and other sources; resolve discrepancies before final approval.
• Reconcile payroll G/L accounts and posting files for each payroll cycle.
• Review payroll tax filings and reports; assist with tax notices and inquiries with internal teams and external providers.
• Maintain accurate payroll records per SOX, internal controls, and data privacy requirements.
• Respond to employee payroll questions with clear explanations of pay calculations and taxes.
• Support year-end activities (W-2PR and W-2 reviews, bonus cycles, reconciliations).
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, and Finance on policy changes and system updates; participate in testing of payroll system changes.
• Identify and implement process improvements using automation tools (Power BI, Power Automate, macros).
