Schneider Electric is seeking a Junior Thermal Engineer to support thermal design, simulation, and validation for advanced products. This role suits a recent graduate aiming to build hands-on experience in heat transfer and multiphysics modeling.

You will work with experienced simulation engineers and cross‑functional teams, progressively taking ownership of analyses, documenting assumptions, and presenting results to stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.

Responsabilidades

  • Support the creation and improvement of thermal and fluid-flow simulation models for components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Prepare and simplify 3D geometry, generate computational meshes, define materials, and apply boundary conditions under guidance.
  • Run steady-state and basic transient thermal analyses using tools such as Ansys Icepak or Fluent.
  • Evaluate conduction, natural and forced convection, radiation, and heat generation in electrical or mechanical products.
  • Review solver convergence, check model quality, and document assumptions, inputs, and limitations.
  • Post-process results to identify temperatures, hot spots, airflow behavior, and design improvement opportunities.
  • Compare simulation results with laboratory measurements and help update models based on test data.
  • Support sensitivity studies and design comparisons involving materials, geometry, operating conditions, or cooling approaches.
  • Prepare clear technical reports and presentations with results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, product, laboratory, and manufacturing teams.
  • Follow team methods for model quality, file management, documentation, and peer review.
  • Continue developing technical skills through coaching, training, and hands‑on project work.

We are seeking a Junior Thermal Engineer to support thermal design, simulation, and validation activities for advanced products and technologies. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who wants to build practical experience in heat transfer, computational modeling, and product development. The engineer will work with experienced simulation specialists and cross-functional teams, receiving guidance while gradually taking ownership of thermal analyses and technical deliverables.

What will you do?
  • Support the creation and improvement of thermal and fluid-flow simulation models for components, assemblies, and systems.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
  • Entry level or 1-3 years of relevant experience, including internships, academic projects, research, or industrial experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of heat transfer, including conduction, convection, and radiation.
  • Basic understanding of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
  • Academic or practical exposure to numerical simulation, computational fluid dynamics, or finite element analysis.
  • Experience with at least one engineering simulation tool is preferred, such as Ansys Icepak, Fluent, Mechanical, COMSOL, or FloTHERM.
  • Basic experience preparing CAD geometry and creating or evaluating meshes is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret engineering data, perform calculations, and communicate technical findings clearly.
  • Good problem-solving, organization, teamwork, and documentation skills.
  • Professional working proficiency in English
  • Experience from internships, university projects, or research involving electronics cooling, electrical equipment, thermal management, or product testing.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, Joule heating, material properties, or temperature‑rise testing.
  • Exposure to Python, MATLAB, Excel, or other tools for data analysis and automation.
  • Interest in learning multidisciplinary simulation and linking thermal models with electrical or structural analyses.
