Schneider Electric in Mexico is seeking a Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer for Air Circuit Breakers to design electromechanical assemblies and drive optimization across the product lifecycle. You will apply CAD, GD&T and design-for-manufacturing principles, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to cost-effective, compliant solutions.

The role requires strong technical autonomy, experience with safety and reliability standards, and a design-to-cost mindset to deliver

Formación

  • Bachelor degree in Electromechanics, Mechatronics, LDI or similar.
  • Advanced English level.
  • +3 years of experience in new product development for low-voltage electrical distribution.
  • Knowledge of Air Circuit Breakers, Molded Case Circuit Breakers or similar products.
  • Strong CAD and GD&T experience and ability to manage complex assemblies.
  • Understanding of mechanical design, electromechanical integration, electrical clearances, creepage, thermal constraints, short-circuit withstand, installation requirements, and manufacturability.
  • Experience with design-to-cost, value engineering, standardization, modular design, platform development, or design optimization.
  • Familiarity with UL, NEMA, IEC, CSA, or other applicable standards.
  • Experience with cross-functional global teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, offer management, certification, and project management.
  • Domain of problem-solving methodologies

Responsabilidades

  • Support the maintenance of the existing ACB offer from a technical perspective.
  • Participate and provide engineering guidance to product evolution projects.
  • Support the continuous engineer in the technical ownership on the ACB offer.
  • Support root cause analysis for field and manufacturing issues.
  • Design and optimize mechanical and electromechanical assemblies, including mechanism, current carrying parts, electrical contacts, barriers, mounting systems, and related components.
  • Apply CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, surface treatment, design-for-manufacturing, and design-for-assembly principles.
  • Balance trade-offs between cost, performance, reliability, manufacturability, safety, compliance, installation efficiency, and customer value.
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, quality, and industrialization teams to develop design changes.

Join us as a Senior Engineer and play a pivotal role in designing electromechanical systems that drive innovation. You'll integrate mechanical, electrical, and electronic components while collaborating across disciplines to deliver products that meet the highest standards of performance and safety.

Electromechanical Design Engineer for Air Circuit Breakers is responsible for the design on projects for offer evolution, maintenance and optimization for Air Circuit Breaker offer. This role contributes to business continuity, cost optimization, product robustness, and manufacturability improvements.

The position requires strong technical autonomy, advanced electromechanical design capability, CAD proficiency, GD&T, design-to-cost mindset and critical thinking. The design engineer will work with offer management, manufacturing, quality, industrialization, procurement, testing, certification, and project teams to deliver innovative, reliable, manufacturable, and standards-compliant solutions.

What will you do?
Business continuity
  • Support the maintenance of the existing ACB offer from a technical perspective.

  • Design and optimize mechanical and electromechanical assemblies, including mechanism, current carrying parts, electrical contacts, barriers, mounting systems, and related components.
  • Apply CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, surface treatment, design-for-manufacturing, and design-for-assembly principles.
  • Balance trade-offs between cost, performance, reliability, manufacturability, safety, compliance, installation efficiency, and customer value.
Design-To-Cost and Product Competitiveness
  • Support design-to-cost initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce material cost, assembly complexity, part count, tooling impact, and product variability.
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, quality, and industrialization teams to develop design changes.
