Job summary

ABB in Monterrey, Mexico, is seeking an experienced Indirect Buyer to manage procurement of indirect materials and services for our manufacturing site. You will convert requisitions into purchase orders, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining compliance with procurement policies.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5+ years in purchasing, SAP experience, excellent Excel and English skills, and strong stakeholder management to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, SCM, Industrial Engineering, International Business, or related field.
• 5+ years experience in Purchasing/Procurement in a manufacturing environment.
• ERP/SAP experience with purchase order management, inventory transactions, material planning, and procurement reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and advanced English communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for indirect materials, MRO supplies, consumables, spare parts, tools, PPE, and indirect services.
• Convert approved purchase requisitions into accurate and timely purchase orders while ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and policies.
• Monitor purchase orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and material availability.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and agreements with suppliers while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
• Analyze quotations and supplier proposals to identify the best overall value for the business.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery issues, shortages, discrepancies, and service concerns.
• Support inventory availability by aligning purchasing activities with demand forecasts, stock levels, lead times, and operational priorities.
• Track supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on purchasing efficiency, service levels, and cost optimization.
