Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to manage global commodities with a focus on delivering best-in-class procurement customer experience. The role is hybrid, requiring ~2 days per week in an HPE office, and involves cross-functional collaboration and supplier negotiations.

You will lead data analysis, drive cost optimization, and help manage supplier performance while applying standard contracting practices and risk mitigation across categories.

Qualifications

• First level university degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain function.
• Understanding of procurement processes, industry, and suppliers.
• Basic analytical skills.
• Knowledge of business application tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint).
• Strong communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Basic Project Management skills.
• Basic ability to develop suppliers.
• Strong teamwork and basic leadership skills; basic influencing skills.
• Mastery in English and local language.
• Ability to create a contract using standard company contract templates with supervision.
• Applies cause and effect thinking to identify common contract risk areas.
• Basic contracting principles.
• Good understanding of the company’s business units and the company’s business strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis of specific commodity data and industry trends or lead an individual supply chain sub-category.
• Participate as a member of a cross-functional team (may lead specific projects).
• Meet with stakeholders to understand business priorities and translate them into procurement plans.
• Participate in supplier selection activities.
• Negotiate with suppliers.
• Engage with low‑complexity suppliers to negotiate commercials and acceptable contracting outcomes using pre‑packed solutions.
• Negotiate commercial and legal terms and conditions.
• Execute risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management, and operation strategies.
• Advise program level business representatives on fundamental contract risk areas.
• Monitor supplier performance.
