Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Software Engineer or Computer Scientist to join our team. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Carrier eDesign software-based tools for the design and optimization of heating ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in buildings.

As a Software Engineer, you'll develop desktop and web applications, analyze requirements, and produce clean code. You will test, collaborate with others, and evaluate new libraries and tools as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficient with desktop software development using C#, .NET.
• Proficient with front-end web technologies including JavaScript and ReactJS
• Proficient with server-side and back-end technologies including C#, .NET, and Entity Framework.
• Understanding of object-oriented design and analysis (OOD and OOA)
• Knowledge of software development and deployment practices on AWS.
• Technology experience including Microsoft Visual Studio, XML, JSON, WPF, XAML.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation communication skills
• High level of verbal and written English language fluency.
• Experience using agentic AI tools for software development
• 3+ years of work experience as software engineer preferred but not required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field of study.

Responsibilities

• Developing desktop and web-based software applications for HVAC system design and energy modeling.
• Analyzing software requirements and design software solutions.
• Producing clean, efficient code that meets software requirements.
• Performing unit and system testing.
• Working collaboratively with other developers on development projects.
• Maintaining, troubleshooting, and debug existing software.
• Contributing to establishing department guidelines and standards for development of software.
• Evaluating and identifying new libraries, tools, and technologies for use by the software development team, as needed.
