Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a passionate Calculation Engine Engineer to join our Modeling and Simulation team. You will develop scalable calculation engines for our HVAC portfolio and collaborate with marketing, product engineering, and global stakeholders to translate customer needs into high-performance models.

You will apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and numerical methods to optimize product selection, ensure robustness, and contribute to technical documentation and deployment

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and numerical analysis.
• Experience with nonlinear algebraic and differential equation systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Modelica (TOP), or C++.
• HVAC/R or power plant equipment design/analysis experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to collaborate across functions.
• Ability to work independently in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain calculation engines for HVAC products and tools.
• Apply heat transfer, thermodynamics, and numerical methods in algorithms.
• Collaborate with optimization engineers to create advanced algorithms.
• Work with marketing, product engineering, and global teams to translate needs.
• Support integration of engines into modeling/configuration platforms.
• Ensure model accuracy, robustness, scalability, and maintainability through testing.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
