Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in sustainability, administrative or industrial engineer.
• 2+ years of experience in similar roles as HSE Specialist (Environment & Sustainability).
• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Lead or internal auditor for ISO 45001 & 50001.
• Clean Industry, ZWTL and Net Zero programs knowledge.
• Federal, state, and local HSE regulations (e.g., SEMARNAT, PROFEPA).
• Experience in Power BI & AI.
• Advanced English level.

Responsibilities

• Lead waste management techniques, collection of storm water samples, regulatory inspections and mitigation of environmental risks.
• Interact with environmental regulatory agencies, permit evaluation/processing, and new processes/technologies.
• Submit critical reports to various government agencies.
• Develop and implement sustainability strategies, policies, and programs aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and operational costs through energy efficiency and waste reduction.
• Monitor and report sustainability metrics including carbon footprint, water usage, and waste generation.
• Engage stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives.

Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Lead waste management techniques, collection of storm water samples, facilitate regulatory inspections, mitigate environmental risks, and ensure records are maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local environmental standards.
• Lead the site in interactions with environmental regulatory agencies, permit evaluation and processing, and the introduction of new processes and technologies.
• Submit critical reports to various government agencies.
• Develop and implement sustainability strategies, policies, and programs aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and operational costs through energy efficiency, waste reduction, and resource optimization.
• Monitor and report sustainability performance metrics, including carbon footprint, water usage, and waste generation.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, regulators, and community partners, to promote sustainability initiatives.
