Job summary

ABB is seeking a Production Engineer to optimize assembly methods, processes, and equipment in Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, Jalisco. You will define working phase sequences for new production processes to meet cost and investment targets, and you will ensure methods, cycle times, equipment, and materials support production targets.

The role involves identifying improvement opportunities, approving process designs, and providing startup support to production and maintenance resources.

Qualifications

• You are highly skilled and enjoy working with PLC and the manufacturing market.
• You are a recent graduate or have at least six months of professional experience including internship.
• You have experience with machinery and tools (PLCs such as Siemens or Fanuc).
• You are interested in electric motors and teamwork, problem solving, time management.
• Engineering degree or technical diploma as stated.
• You can express yourself clearly in English.
• Availability to travel for business at least five times per year with valid Mexican passport and U.S. visa.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and ability to read technical drawings.
• Knowledge and use of AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

Your Role: Meet the Challenge

In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the production organization's assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your skill by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to meet the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.

This role is contributing to the Motion business line Nema in Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, Jalisco.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Identifying and recommending improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements.
• Approving the design for processes developed internally or externally and performing final tests with respect to the project.
• Providing support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources.
• Evaluating new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and managing testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.

• Availability to travel for business at least five times per year (must hold a valid Mexican passport and a valid U.S. visa)
• Knowledge of pneumatics
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Knowledge and use of AutoCAD or SolidWorks
