Siemens Energy is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer for Construction Projects in Guanajuato. You will oversee civil and structural activities from design coordination through construction and commissioning on industrial sites.

You will review third-party design packages, supervise on-site work, ensure compliance with drawings and standards, and support inspections and project reporting. Strong coordination and problem-solving skills are essential.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Min. five years in industrial or large-scale construction.
  • Foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, earthworks, drainage.
  • Knowledge of international civil/structural codes (ACI, AISC, ASTM, Eurocodes).
  • Proven ability to interpret drawings and calculations.

A Snapshot of Your Day

The Civil Structural Engineer for Construction Projects oversees civil and structural engineering activities across industrial construction projects, from design coordination through construction and commissioning. The role involves daily collaboration with contractors, engineering firms, and Siemens Energy teams to ensure civil works are executed safely and in compliance with standards. Responsibilities include reviewing technical documentation, monitoring site activities, supporting inspections, and resolving technical issues. Work is performed in an active construction environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Review and coordinate civil and structural design packages from third-party engineering firms to ensure compliance with Siemens Energy standards and project requirements.
  • Supervise and monitor on-site civil and structural construction activities, including earthworks, foundations, concrete, steel structures, and building envelopes.
  • Verify compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, construction procedures, and quality requirements to ensure structural integrity.
  • Identify technical deviations, constructability challenges, and interface risks, proposing safe and compliant solutions in coordination with Project Management.
  • Participate in inspections, material approvals, structural walkdowns, and key acceptance milestones such as concrete pours and steel erection.
  • Support project reporting by managing punch lists, non-conformities, as-built documentation, and lessons learned related to civil and structural scope.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in industrial or large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, earthworks, and drainage systems.
  • Solid understanding of international civil and structural standards and codes, including ACI, AISC, ASTM, and Eurocodes.
  • Proven ability to interpret drawings, calculations, specifications, shop drawings, and construction method statements.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency with strong coordination, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
About The Team

The role is part of the Siemens Energy Real Estate BSS project execution organization supporting the STM300 expansion project in Santa Teresa, Guanajuato. The Civil / Structural Engineer reports to the Project Manager and works closely with Engineering, Construction, EHS, Quality, and Commissioning teams. The team collaborates with global and local Siemens Energy stakeholders and external contractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of civil and structural works.
