Job summary

Legora in Mexico City seeks a Director to head Legal Engineering and establish the function as the commercial and delivery engine for Mexico. You will set the craft bar, build the team, and partner with Go-to-Market, Engagement, and senior clients to scale local learning into repeatable playbooks.

You will drive leadership development, market strategy, and cross-functional execution while ensuring alignment with Legora's global standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified to practise law in Mexico with substantial legal, legal-operations, or legal-technology experience.
• Built and led teams, functions, or market operating models with measurable impact.
• Managed and developed strong people, including managers or team leads.
• Curious about generative AI and product, with ability to learn platforms quickly.
• Able to engage with Managing Partners, General Counsels, and executive teams.
• Understand commercial realities of legal services and enterprise software.
• Can bring structure to ambiguity and build scalable operating systems.
• Strong hiring and performance judgment, with high standards.
• Fluent in Spanish and English, written and spoken.
• Based in Mexico City and willing to work from the office five days a week with travel across Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Stand up the Legal Engineering function for Mexico from the Mexico City office, establishing rhythm, quality, capacity, and local partnerships.
• Hire exceptional Legal Engineers and future leaders; own sourcing, interviewing, onboarding and ramp.
• Build a manager layer of Team Leads and define succession paths to reduce dependence on one person.
• Provide direct, evidence-based feedback; set clear expectations and act decisively when needed.
• Partner with local commercial leadership on accounts, pilots, rollouts and escalations to drive revenue.
• Act as the lead legal architect on enterprise engagements, translating problems into Legora workflows and reusable playbooks.
• Oversee complex, multi-stakeholder programs with governance, owners, outcomes, and risk management.
• Build trusted relationships with Managing Partners, General Counsels, and Legal Operations leaders.
• Represent the market to Legora; translate client patterns and product gaps into input for Product.
• Shape Legora's stance on AI and legal work in Mexico through executive forums and market insight.
• Create clean handoffs across teams to sustain momentum and long-term adoption.
