Job summary

Global Connect Technologies is seeking a mechanical engineering specialist to lead FEA-driven battery system design and thermal management. The role involves driving simulations, validating mechanical robustness, and guiding cross-functional teams, including offshore collaborators. The candidate will also assist in assembling and testing battery prototypes.

Strong communication and battery domain expertise are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical system design using FEA for crash, crush, shock and vibration.
• Experience with Li-Ion battery systems and thermal management.
• OEM Automotive/Tier 1 experience with systems/assemblies is desirable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert thermal management system designs and guidance for battery cells and packs.
• Define and execute FEA simulations to validate battery designs for mechanical robustness.
• Oversee FEA analysis and validation testing for vibration durability, mechanical shock, crashworthiness, and structural engineering.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams and offshore colleagues.
• Assist in the assembly and test of battery systems or prototypes.

Job description

• Good working experience/exposure in Mechanical system design using FEA simulations related to crash, crush, mechanical shock and vibration analysis
• Experience with Li-Ion battery systems is desired, specifically regarding thermal management and mechanical design
• OEM Automotive/Tier 1 experience with systems/assemblies is highly desirable
• Strong Communication and organizational skills
• Provide expert thermal management system designs and guidance to facilitate the development of Lead acid, Li-Ion, Super Capacitor battery cells and battery packs
• Provide knowledge for defining and executing FEA simulations to validate battery design concepts regarding mechanical robustness
• Conduct, make iterations, or oversee other engineers for FEA analysis, validation testing, and result interpretation in the areas of Vibration Durability, Mechanical Shock, Crashworthiness, and General Structural Engineering.
• Provide technical guidance to cross functional teams as needed and have offshore experience
• Assist in the assembly and test of battery systems or prototypes
