Job summary

Global Connect Technologies is seeking an experienced mechanical/thermal design engineer for automotive battery systems in Monterrey. You will lead FEA simulations to validate crashworthiness, vibration, and structural integrity, and guide thermal management strategies for Li-Ion and lead-acid packs.

You will mentor cross-functional teams, oversee validation testing, and provide technical leadership on offshore projects as needed to ensure robust battery designs.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in mechanical design of battery systems with FEA validation.
• Exposure to Li-Ion battery thermal management and mechanical design.
• Experience with OEM Automotive / Tier1 systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Provide expert thermal management system designs for Lead-acid, Li-Ion, and battery packs.
• Provide knowledge for defining and executing FEA simulations for mechanical robustness.
• Lead or oversee engineers in FEA analysis, validation testing, and interpretation for vibration, shock, crashworthy structures.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams and offshore experience.
• Assist in assembly and test of battery systems or prototypes.

Job description

• Good working experience/exposure in Mechanical system design using FEA simulations related to crash, crush, mechanical shock and vibration analysis
• Experience with Li-Ion battery systems is desired, specifically regarding thermal management and mechanical design
• OEM Automotive/Tier 1 experience with systems/assemblies is highly desirable
• Strong Communication and organizational skills
• Provide expert thermal management system designs and guidance to facilitate the development of Lead acid, Li-Ion, Super Capacitor battery cells and battery packs
• Provide knowledge for defining and executing FEA simulations to validate battery design concepts regarding mechanical robustness
• Conduct, make iterations, or oversee other engineers for FEA analysis, validation testing, and result interpretation in the areas of Vibration Durability, Mechanical Shock, Crashworthiness, and General Structural Engineering.
• Provide technical guidance to cross functional teams as needed and have offshore experience
• Assist in the assembly and test of battery systems or prototypes
