The role involves guiding thermal management for various battery chemistries, executing simulations to validate concepts, interpreting results for structural integrity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance battery system designs.

Job description

Job Summary

The CAE Engineer will support mechanical system design using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations, focusing on crash, crush, mechanical shock, vibration analysis, and battery system thermal management and mechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on thermal management system design for lead-acid, Li-ion, and supercapacitor battery cells and battery packs.
• Define and execute FEA simulations to validate battery design concepts and assess mechanical robustness.
• Conduct FEA analysis, perform design iterations, or oversee other engineers in analysis and validation activities.
• Interpret simulation and validation results related to vibration durability, mechanical shock, crashworthiness, and general structural engineering.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams as needed.
• Support offshore engineering activities.
• Assist with the assembly and testing of battery systems or prototypes.

Required Skills

• Good working experience or exposure to mechanical system design using FEA simulations.
• Experience with crash, crush, mechanical shock, and vibration analysis.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Li-ion battery systems, particularly thermal management, and mechanical design.
• Experience with OEM automotive or Tier 1 suppliers, especially systems and assemblies.
• Experience with lead-acid batteries, Li-ion batteries, and supercapacitor cells or battery packs.

Educational Qualification

• MS/M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
