Job summary

Flex Guadalajara North is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead end-to-end automation projects in manufacturing environments. You will design, implement, and support automation solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and quality.

Role requires proficiency in C#, Python, Visual Studio, and REST APIs, with a focus on AI and data-driven manufacturing improvements. On-site position in Mexico with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required and related experience/ Strong software development background with a focus on industrial automation solutions.
• Proven experience designing and implementing automation systems in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 principles, including digital transformation and smart manufacturing.
• Proficiency in C#, Python, Visual Studio, .NET Framework/.NET Core, and REST API integration.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and software architecture.
• Experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven technologies to manufacturing processes.
• Experience developing and supporting software applications for automated production systems.
• Ability to lead technical automation projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience integrating industrial equipment, software platforms, and manufacturing technologies.
• Knowledge of real-time data acquisition, traceability systems, and manufacturing execution processes.
• Experience developing dashboards, reporting tools, and operational analytics solutions.
• English proficiency preferred

Responsibilities

• Own automation projects from concept to production.
• Define, develop, and deploy automation into Flex sites.
• Design equipment layouts for efficiency and safety.
• Prepare RFQs and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Manage project budgets and schedules.
• Provide on-site support during machine build and testing.
• Draft qualification protocols and support equipment qualification.
• Develop dashboards and operational analytics.
• Interface with customers and owners on automation issues.
• Participate in design reviews and provide status reports.
• Maintain operation documentation for automation equipment.
