Job summary

Forvia in Mexico seeks an automation technician with 2+ years in automotive environments. You will support machinery uptime, verify PLC code, and safeguard control systems. The role covers backups for robotic and CNC assets, and using PDCA/LSS to boost efficiency and reliability.

You will work with Siemens/Allen‑Bradley platforms and machine vision tools, and coordinate with production to reduce downtime and improve lifecycle performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ degree in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering.
• 2+ years in the automotive industry.
• Advanced PLC/HMI platform proficiency (Siemens/Allen‑Bradley).
• Basic to intermediate Beckhoff, Omron and Mitsubishi PLC knowledge.
• Experience with machine vision systems (Cognex/Keyence).
• Ability to create system backups and disk images.
• Knowledge of maintenance practices and safety/environmental aspects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to resolve machinery downtime across manufacturing areas.
• Verify PLC programs to ensure system integrity and safety.
• Identify components affecting reliability and lifecycle performance.
• Monitor automation-related actions and improvement initiatives.
• Maintain backup procedures for Bosch, Serra, robotic systems and CNC equipment.
• Analyze daily performance, perform root-cause investigations using PDCA/LSS.
