Job summary

Lincoln Motor Company in Chihuahua, Mexico seeks a qualified Controls Engineer to lead automation projects, review cycle times, troubleshoot PLCs, robotics, and electrical systems in our manufacturing plant.

You will design and maintain the plant controls strategy, review machine software, and coordinate vendor installs, while applying Lean, Six Sigma, and 8D/FMEA methodologies to improve quality and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls (RSLogix) is required.
• Electrical background (electrician or technician) is preferred.
• Experience with Allen Bradley hardware/software and automation components.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for teambuilding and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Use Vis Plant monitoring software to review cycle times of automation and follow up on automation projects and installations.
• Troubleshoot PLC, robot, and other automation problems supporting day-to-day production issues.
• Reprogram automation for engineering changes and improvements.
• Define, design and maintain plant controls strategy aligned with ME Group Staff.
• Review, approve and load all machine controls software to ensure latest level is available.
• Conduct Machine Acceptance for new/retool equipment from New Programs, CIB projects or maintenance actions.
• Review and approve technical drawings and maintain documentation.
• Prepare projects to improve machine controls and issue PIRs and orders.
• Conduct technical reviews of recaps to ensure Ford Engineering Spec and local regulations are met.
• Review and approve new technologies, materials and components (including obsolescence).
• Provide technical support for energy efficiency activities related to electrical circuits.
• Coordinate and support vendor installations in plant.
