Job summary

Amazon Operations in Mexico is seeking an Automation Engineer to fault find, troubleshoot and improve controls for automated material handling equipment within our warehouse network.

You will serve as SME for controls systems, train technicians, and drive continuous improvement across Global Controls and Mexican sites. Strong English communication and PLC/industrial control expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and 2+ years in automated conveyor/controls.
• Experience with PLC-controlled automation in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial control systems hardware and software.
• Proficient in English, with strong oral and written communication.
• Experience with material handling, flow and capacity.

Responsibilities

• Be the site level SME for all controls systems and sensors, monitoring and repairing to ensure equipment availability.
• Train technicians in basics of control systems fault finding to raise site knowledge.
• Collaborate with Global Controls network to monitor MHE metrics and provide data visibility.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects within Global Controls network.
• Ensure documentation and backup libraries are maintained with Operations Engineering.
• Assist installation and commissioning of new equipment across sites.
• Support other sites in the Mexico network as required.
• Interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and develop improvement strategies for code conformance.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends/nights/holidays; troubleshoot PLC automation.
