The role blends inbound and outbound calls with strategic account management to improve recovery rates while ensuring FDCPA compliance and strong client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of collections experience, preferably auto lending/auto collections.
• Understanding of FDCPA and state collection laws.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills with a track record of closing accounts.
• Exceptional communication across customer service levels.

Responsibilities

• Verify and update customer account information in system records.
• Educate customers on timely payments and consequences of default.
• Negotiate and arrange payment plans that meet company objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Document all transactions and interactions in the system.
• Prepare account files for potential legal action per policy and FDCPA compliance.
• Maintain professional demeanor with irate customers while staying firm on objectives.
